Fish Springs Ranch Solar Energy Center

The Fish Springs Ranch Solar Energy Center in Nevada generates and stores power from the sun to provide energy for thousands of homes while reducing carbon emissions. Dudek completed environmental studies and land entitlements for the 300-megawatt (MW) solar energy facility, spanning over 2,000 acres of private land and public Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land.

Project Facts
  • Washoe, Nevada
  • 2,000-acre+ project area
  • Solar plus battery storage facility
  • 300 MW
  • Achieved compliance with BLM, NEPA, and Washoe County requirements

The Challenge

To facilitate the construction of the solar energy and battery storage facility, compliance with BLM and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements was necessary. Additionally, local land use entitlement permit packages were needed to ensure development aligned with Washoe County’s regulations.

The Solution

Dudek provided comprehensive services spanning from initial due diligence efforts to construction compliance and operations, including preparation of environmental documentation pursuant to local and federal requirements

The Impact

Now fully operational, the energy center delivers and stores up to 300 MW of power, which is enough to supply approximately 75,000 homes with clean electricity, effectively eliminating around 765,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions that would have otherwise been produced by fossil fuels.
