Empowering Employees: Spotlighting EHS Coordinator Zah’Kyah Linton

Dudek has a dynamic, employee-driven safety culture that thrives on participation and engagement. Our commitment to safety is deeply rooted in the belief that every employee plays a crucial role in fostering a safe work environment. This employee-led approach is exemplified by our Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team, including staff like Zah’Kyah Linton. As EHS Coordinator, Zah’Kyah actively encourages feedback and engagement from all team members, ensuring that safety is a shared responsibility and a core value that drives our success.

Her journey into the world of safety began during her military service. While serving overseas, she was selected as the environmental compliance/safety/HAZMAT officer within her unit. This role opened her eyes to the critical importance of safety, and the experience enhanced her leadership skills as she fell in love with the field of safety.

Zah’Kyah is particularly passionate about fostering employee participation in safety processes. She has made significant strides in promoting a robust safety culture at Dudek by creating opportunities for employees to learn via live scenarios, trainings, and discussions. She recognizes the importance of working together as safety champions and encourages employees to communicate honestly with the EHS team, turning to the team as a trusted resource.

Fostering strong connections with employees empowers them to actively promote Dudek’s safety culture. “There will always be evolution within the field of safety, but the one crucial factor that remains constant is teamwork,” Zah’Kyah said. “Safety always requires teamwork.” Looking ahead, she said she looks forward to continued growth through training opportunities and deepening employee engagement.

Zah’Kyah dedication and vision are a testament to the employee-led safety culture at Dudek. Her commitment to teamwork and continuous improvements empowers employees to work safely, not just for themselves, but for the entire firm.
