The City of Lomita needed to update its Safety Element to assess the hazards affecting the City of Lomita, when and where hazards are anticipated to occur, who in the city is most vulnerable, and how the City of Lomita is preparing for these hazards. The City of Oxnard’s Tree Program Review provides a road map for the City to plan for the future of its trees. Dudek used a comprehensive approach to address issues associated with deferred maintenance, declining tree health, species diversity, out-of-date City tree policies, and infrastructure conflicts to develop the Tree Program Review.
The Los Angeles County Metro Area Plan (LAMAP) is a comprehensive planning effort for seven community planning areas within the urbanized core of the County of Los Angeles (County). Dudek helped the County prepare the plan, including a Historic Context Statement to inform and enhance the larger MAP project as it relates to historic resources.
Dudek performed coordination planning for the City of Pomona’s Pomona ACTS (Activated for Community Transformation and Sustainability) Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Planning Grant efforts. To position the City for a future TCC implementation grant application, Dudek investigated available leverage funding, identified and assessed potential projects, assisted with engagement, and advanced priority transportation projects.
The Bakersfield Transformative Climate Communities Plan identifies projects that support the development of housing, employment, and active transportation through Cap and Trade, as well as other state-level funding sources. Dudek led a qualitative and GIS-based review of City plans and policy to identify the most competitive projects for grant funding based on their defensible greenhouse
The Eastern Coachella Valley Action Plan for Climate Resilience is a roadmap to identify and prioritize projects that increase climate resilience, reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) and provide equitable access to housing. Dudek worked with local stakeholders and regional agencies to craft this award-winning plan.
Dudek’s work on the San Jose Community Forest Management Plan (CFMP) helped to identify systemic issues that impeded the maintenance and expansion of the community forest, and provided a strategic plan for improvement.
Dudek’s work on the City of Irvine Eucalyptus Tree Risk Analysis project has helped reduce a hidden risk in the landscape. Our arborists used advanced technology to evaluate trees in a minimally invasive nature and develop a monitoring plan for those with lower levels of decay that are not immediately at risk.
